A man injured in the July 17 collapse of a metal structure at a construction site in Gonio has died in hospital.
The victim had been transferred to BEMSI Clinic in Batumi with critical injuries described as dangerous to life. Despite medical efforts, he could not be saved.
The collapse occurred at an under-construction residential building, prompting an immediate response from emergency services.
As the Ministry of Internal Affairs declared, an investigation is underway under Article 240 of the Criminal Code of Georgia which deals with violations of safety regulations during construction, mining or other hazardous work.
