The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will hold a dedicated debate on political developments in Georgia, specifically focusing on individuals allegedly facing politically motivated persecution.

The session is titled ‘Call for the immediate release of persons facing political persecution in Georgia,’ as stated in the official agenda on the PACE website. The debate is scheduled for Thursday, June 26, during the Assembly’s second sitting of the day, beginning at 17:00 Tbilisi time.

The debate comes during heightened scrutiny of Georgia’s domestic political climate and its implications for the country’s democratic trajectory and relationship with European institutions.
