On June 18, the European Parliament will hold debates on media freedom in Georgia, with a particular focus on the case of journalist Mzia Amaglobeli, founder of the independent media outlets Netgazeti and Batumelebi.
Ahead of the session, several Members of the European Parliament — including Rasa Juknevičienė, Małgorzata Gosiewska, and Petras Auštrevičius — held a demonstration in support of imprisoned individuals by displaying banners with their names.
The banners featured Mate Devidze, Mzia Amaglobeli, Zurab Japaridze, Nika Melia, Mikheil Saakashvili, and Nika Gvaramia.
The Parliament will discuss resolutions submitted by seven political groups, with a vote scheduled for tomorrow, June 19.
