Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has appointed Giorgi Tkemaladze as the new Vice Mayor of the capital, emphasizing his long-standing role in the city’s development.
Speaking at a city government meeting, Kaladze introduced Tkemaladze as a trusted team member with deep knowledge of local governance. “He is one of the outstanding leaders of our team,” Kaladze said. “He has been involved in all the activities that are called the development and reconstruction of the city for years.”
Tkemaladze previously served as Chairman of the Tbilisi City Council for two consecutive terms. As Kaladze stated, nearly every major project in the capital over the past several years included Tkemaladze’s direct involvement.
“All the projects implemented and done in the capital were, of course, implemented with the participation of the City Council and Giorgi himself,” Kaladze said. “I am sure that his qualifications, his involvement, will help us and we will continue the important works and projects that we have initiated.”
Kaladze also hinted at ‘ambitious plans’ and ‘important projects’ for Tbilisi’s future, promising more updates in the coming months.
Kaladze pointed out that Tkemaladze’s experience makes him well-suited for the new role. “Giorgi knows very well how important self-government is,” he said, wishing him success in the position.
