In the framework of the 34th Annual Meeting of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Georgia’s finance leaders met with EBRD Vice-President Matteo Patrone. President of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) Natia Turnava and Minister of Finance Lasha Khutsishvili held discussions with Patrone, focusing on continued collaboration between Georgia’s financial sector and the EBRD.
Turnava pointed out the sector’s rapid progress, emphasizing its appeal to international financial institutions. “The EBRD is one of Georgia’s key partners in financing the financial sector, having already provided $566 million,” she stated. “Our banking sector is not only one of the most dynamic and profitable in the region but also one of the most transparent. This makes our ongoing cooperation with the EBRD both logical and valuable.”
As NBG declared, both sides mentioned that the existing partnership remains crucial for maintaining momentum in financial sector development, with further collaboration expected to proceed with the same intensity.
