Kobakhidze: Our main priority is to become a member state of the EU

“Our main priority is to become a member state of the European Union,” said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkey.

He claimed that peace is essential for development and for building proper relations between countries.

“We have a very clear vision — our main priority is to become a member state of the European Union. In this area, we are facing some challenges, but we hope that with the restoration of peace in our country and the region, especially in Ukraine, Georgia’s integration path will progress more actively. We are hopeful and looking forward to positive developments.

“For development and proper relations between different countries, peace is crucial. That is why we must focus on strengthening peace in our region, and we are very glad to be working together with Turkey, which is also a country with a peace-oriented vision. Looking ahead, I want to emphasize that we will pursue our peace vision and focus on the country’s development, particularly economic development. This will further strengthen connectivity and boost the national economy. Peace and prosperity are what everyone should focus on,” Kobakhidze stated.
