Fireworks vs tear gas on Rustaveli Avenue

Tbilisi protests. December 2.

The standoff between demonstrators and riot police is ongoing at the outskirts of the parliament building, on Rustaveli Avenue, with the majority of protesters at the far end of the avenue- packed in from the metro to the Opera House.

Young protesters run forward and shoot fireworks at the riot police, and riot police fire back tear gas.

The water cannon has been brought out several times, but the protesters remain out of range.

Both sides are using lasers, and both sides are tiring. This is the 5th night of protests.
