The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Georgia has released a statement condemning the Georgian government’s actions during mass protests in response to the October 26 elections. The ICC declared that the ruling party rigged the elections which angered thousands of citizens rallying in front of the Parliament.
“The ICC firmly believes that the Georgian Dream party has violated the Georgian Constitution, specifically Article 78, by halting Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration. This decision undermines the aspirations of a nation that seeks to align itself with European values and standards,” the statement reads.
ICC expressed solidarity with the protesters and supported Georgia’s free and EU-centered aspirations. The organization announced a three-day strike, emphasizing their commitment to their values.
