As Georgia integrates more into the global economy, priorities are rearranged and liberalized. According to Levan Davitashvili, the First Vice Prime Minister, diminishing trade obstructions attracts more investments from crucial sectors like ICT, finance, and tourism. Free trade agreements, including comprehensive service chapters, boost this process, enlarge market opportunities, and advance cooperation.
At the China International Fair for Trade in Services, Davitashvili also emphasized the importance of the 2017 free trade agreement with China, citing its role in increasing trade and investment, especially in areas such as telecommunications, tourism, and financial services.
He also highlighted Georgia’s successful agreements with the EU, EFTA, Turkey, and Hong Kong, stating that these have further amplified the country’s access to various services.
