Striking employees of Evolution Georgia start a hunger strike

A number of the striking employees of Evolution Georgia have resorted to a hunger strike, an extreme form of protest.

As the striking employees say, they were forced to resort to this method of protest because the company does not seem ready to negotiate.

They claim that the administration of Evolution Georgia is trying in every way to blame the problems in the company on the striking employees.

“Today is the 33rd day of the strike and the strikers have started hunger strike,” said Makhare Patashuri. “During these days, they often came and told us not to start a hunger strike and not to harm our health. Messages of such content came from employees and certain representatives of the management. I agree with them that this company is not worth the damage to health. We do it for those who work here.

“The problem that exists in the country is the low labor standard, which will not be solved by itself. We must fight, even at the cost of our health. These days, the company could not intimidate us, the strikers, could not tire us out. During this period, the company tried to confront the employees with us. The problems that exist in the company, they try to blame us.

“On August 1, they announced that they were leaving the country and leaving the market, thus trying to annoy people as if it was the fault of the strikers. However, after a few days, it became clear that there are no takers anywhere, and today the company operates in normal mode. The company is not ready for negotiations and we had to resort to radical measures. The company is trying to pit the strikers against the working people inside. Today, the management will hold a counter strike, which serves to ‘blacken’ the strikers.” (source: IPN)

For the record, a number of employees of the online casino Evolution Georgia went on strike on July 12.

The main demand of the strikers is decent working conditions, starting with a salary increase.

In addition, the participants of the strike are demanding more time for breaks, improvement of sanitary and hygienic conditions in the workplace, a safe and comfortable working environment, provision of healthy meals and food vouchers in the workplace, improvement of the insurance package, and an environment free from discrimination and degrading attitudes.
