Freestyle wrestler Givi Macharashvili (97 kg) secured a silver medal at the 2024 Olympics in Paris after losing in the final to Bahrain’s Akhmed Tazhudinov.
This brings Georgia’s medal count at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris to seven. Lasha Talakhadze (weightlifting), Lasha Bekauri (judo), and Geno Petriashvili (freestyle wrestling) claimed gold medals. Givi Macharashvili (freestyle wrestling), Ilia Sulamanidze (judo), and Tato Grigalashvili (judo) each earned silver, while Lasha Guruli (boxing) brought home a bronze.
