The Ministry of Internal Affairs has expressed its profound sorrow over the death of Mirian Chelidze, (DoB1975) – an investigator of the investigation unit under the Ambrolauri Police Division.
According to the Ministry, the Police Major was performing his professional duties in Oni municipality and ensuring public order within the frames of the ongoing rescue operation in the disaster-affected zone when he became unwell and died on the way to the hospital.
“Due to the death of Mirian Chelidze, the Ministry of Internal Affairs expressed deepest condolences to the family, relatives and employees of the late police officer,” reads the MIA statement.
