The Ministry of Internal Affairs reports the people arrested during the protests held near Parliament have been released.
“All persons arrested by the employees of various structural units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in accordance with the Code of Administrative Offenses on March 7 and 8 of the current year, during the manifestations held near the Parliament, have been released,” reads the statement.
As the Ministry of Internal Affairs notes, some of the detainees were brought before the court, while the rest were released based on the expiry of the term of stay in the pre-trial detention center.
“The Ministry of Internal Affairs is conducting an investigation in connection with the violent events that took place on March 7-8 under Articles 353 and 187 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. Investigative activities are being carried out in order to determine, identify, and arrest those who attacked the police and to expose other violent acts during the manifestation in the area surrounding the parliament building,” notes the Ministry.
