Adoption of such a law, which a priori rules out that it can apply to someone specific, is a very good illustration of who the Georgian Dream is covering, Beka Liluashvili, a member of the For Georgia party, told reporters regarding the de-oligarchization bill.
He claimed that the Georgian Dream deceives the society.
“When Georgian Dream says that the draft law will not affect someone specific, in this case Ivanishvili, it says that he is ruled out from the beginning, which is deceiving the public. Adoption of such a law, which a priori rules out that it can apply to someone specific, is a very good illustration of who the Georgian Dream, state institutions, including legislative institution, are covering, and who actually has influence on the processes. This project does not comply with the 12 recommendations, because it is copied and it corresponds to the challenges in Ukraine, not in Georgia. The main problem of oligarchization is informal consolidation of power and this law cannot solve this, therefore the most important thing is to implement all other recommendations and increase the independence of state institutions,” Liluashvili said.
