Georgia’s record-breaking weightlifter Lasha Talakhadze has become the six-time winner of the European Championship.
The European Championship was held in Tirana, the capital of Albania.
All-time record-holder Talakhadze won a gold medal by lifting 217 kg, 245 kg, and 462 kg (in total).
Talakhadze’s score was 462 kg in total wrestling and the Georgian athlete won the title of continental champion for the sixth time in his career.
The Georgian team won a total of 16 medals at the 2022 European Championship – 4 gold, 7 silver, and 5 bronze.
Talakhadze won the European Championship for the first time in 2016.
