Parliament Speaker Kakha Kuchava is resigning, quitting his mandate together with the post of the Speaker.
“I made the decision to leave the position of Speaker. Of course, this is not a 2-3 day decision. I have been discussing this issue with the team for about a month now,” Kuchava said.
Hethanked his teammates and the chairman of the Georgian Dream party.
Kakha Kuchava will be replaced by Gia Tsagareishvili in the parliament after the termination of his parliamentary mandate.
Gia Tsagareishvili has the replacement status in the electoral list of “Georgian Dream”.
At the same time, Kuchava will remain a member of the party’s political council.
