Citizens Boycott Wissol Services due to Increased Fuel Prices

Georgian citizens boycotted the services of the company Wissol due to the increased prices on fuel. Photos depicting the empty petrol stations of Wissol have been spread on social media. Citizens claim that the director of the company announced a further increase in fuel prices, hence their anger.

They also plan to boycott the services of other provider companies, such as Gulf Georgia.

“The results of our protest will be very damaging and alarming to those companies,” they claim.

A video showing an empty Wissol petrol station was spread by the page ‘Tema’ on social media.

To express their protest and anger, citizens plan to hold a rally on November 14 in Tbilisi, Dighomi Meadows, Olympic city.

“On Sunday, November 14 at 12:00 we will gather in the area of the Olympic pool in Didi Dighomi. At this stage, the organizers considered it necessary to hold a rally with peaceful pathos. It does not matter if you have a car or use public transport, this is a common problem and we should all unite in this protest,” announced the organizers of the rally.

No official statement from Wissol Georgia or other provider companies has been released in response at this stage.
