Saakashvili: Yesterday Assured Me that We’ll Win Elections & I’ll be Free

“Yesterday finally convinced me that we will win the election and I will be free too. The pace and exact time of my release depends on your daily organization. I also want to ask the emigrants: come to Georgia for at least a week by the end of the month for a decisive battle,” the third President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili wrote in his address, which was introduced to the public by his lawyers.

According to Saakashvili, the regime will do its best to keep him detained, therefore, daily rallies are needed in various forms, everywhere in Georgia.

“Friends, fellow citizens, I am infinitely proud of you, your bright faces, your intellect and your sense of dignity. Your words and such support have given me great energy, really given me wings. The regime will do its best not to release me, but it will not succeed.

“If I am free we will do miracles together, I know for sure. We will win the elections and I will be free, the pace of my release and the exact time depend on your daily organization. I also want to address the emigrants, come to Georgia for at least a week at the end of the month to fight the decisive battle,

“I know traveling is associated with many difficulties, but it will be a crucial advantage to protect the votes and support me,” said Mikheil Saakashvili.

Thousands of citizens, alongside media and political representatives, took to the streets yesterday at the request of the former UNM opposition leader, and third president of Georgia, Misha Saakashvili.

They aim was to protest Saakashvili’s imprisonment, demand his release from prison, and to criticize the results of the October 2 elections, which saw the ruling party Georgian Dream claiming overall victory.
