The number of international visitors to Georgia decreased by 5.2% in the second quarter of 2026 compared to the same period last year, while tourism revenues also declined, the National Statistics Service of Georgia (Geostat) reports.
Geostat’s latest data shows Georgia received 1.3 million international visitors in April-June 2026.
Tourism revenues also decreased during the period. Foreign visitors spent 3.0 billion GEL in Georgia, which is 13.3% less than in the second quarter of 2025.
Average spending per visit declined by 9.2% to 1,922.1 GEL.
Visitors spent the largest share of their money on food and beverages (27.3%), shopping (25.2%) and accommodation (24.3%).
Visitors from neighboring countries remained the largest group. Russia ranked first with 328,900 visitors, accounting for 25.1% of all international visitors, followed by Turkey (16.9%) and Armenia (10.8%).
