Employees of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs Migration Department deported 126 foreign citizens from the country following coordinated enforcement measures in recent days.

The ministry said the group included nationals from Turkey, India, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Nigeria, Jordan, Burundi, Sudan, China, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Lebanon, Moldova, the Philippines and other countries.

It added that 2,036 illegal foreign nationals were deported from Georgia in the first six months of 2026, a figure that exceeds the total for last year.

New regulations under amendments to the Law on the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons entered into force on 1 July 2026.

Officials said the changes are aimed at addressing modern migration challenges, improving migration management mechanisms and strengthening state security.
