TBC: Education as the First Conscious Step Toward Independence

Independence begins when people realize that they shape their own future through the choices they make. Education is often the first conscious step on that journey, opening the door to personal growth, freedom, and the realization of one’s full potential.

Driven by this belief, TBC supports young talents through the TBC Tech Olympiads Hub, helping students test their knowledge and skills on the international stage. One of the most inspiring success stories to emerge from this initiative is that of Keta Tsimakuridze, a young programmer who built her path by choosing education and continuous self-development.

Keta’s journey began at Komarovi School. After developing an interest in technology and algorithms, she continued her studies at the Mziuri Center for Computer Science, where she first learned about programming Olympiads and started preparing for international competitions.

“At an early age, the first conscious step you can take toward independence is investing in your education. That is why I enrolled in Komarovi School while also studying at Mziuri. It was there that I became interested in algorithms and was introduced to Olympiads. Participating in technology Olympiads is one of the best ways for students from Georgia to become part of the international community and open doors to leading universities in the United States,” says Keta.

With the support of the Tech Olympiads Hub, established by the Business and Technology University (BTU) with TBC as its General Sponsor, Keta has achieved remarkable success on the international stage. Following bronze and silver medal victories, she went on to win two consecutive gold medals in international competitions.

For Keta, however, the journey has never been solely about winning. She emphasizes that Olympiads taught her an equally valuable lesson: failure is an essential part of growth and progress.

Today, Keta is a fourth-year student at MIT and is preparing to begin a software engineering internship at Citadel Securities, one of the leading financial firms in the United States.

“Education is the most powerful tool for gaining freedom and independence on the path you choose for yourself. And when you believe in your own potential, nothing is impossible,” Keta notes.

TBC remains committed to supporting the next generation by creating opportunities that help young people fully realize their potential. Keta Tsimakuridze’s story once again demonstrates that education is the first—and perhaps the most important—step toward independence.
