TBC continues to invest in the next generation of tech talent by supporting Georgia’s National Team as it prepares for the 38th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2026). In partnership with the Business and Technology University (BTU), the training is delivered through the Tech Olympiads Hub initiative.

Recognized as one of the world’s most prestigious annual competitions in computer science and technology, IOI 2026 will take place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from August 9 to 16. The Olympiad brings together outstanding high school students from around the globe to compete in solving advanced algorithmic and programming challenges.

Representing Georgia at this year’s competition will be four students from Vladimir Komarov Tbilisi Public School of Physics and Mathematics No. 199 and the Mziuri Information Technology Center: Vladimir Prangishvili, Andria Vasadze, Mate Rekhviashvili, and Nikoloz Melikishvili.

The national team is selected based on the results of the Georgian National Olympiad in Informatics, organized by the Association for Supporting Information Technology Education and Informatics Olympiads.

As part of their preparation, the team is undergoing a specially designed intensive training program. The first stage was held in June at Tbilisi Public School of Physics and Mathematics No. 199, followed by a training camp in Bakuriani in July, where participants worked on advanced algorithmic problems and practical case studies reflecting the format of the international competition. The final preparation stage will take place from August 1 to 7 at the Business and Technology University, within the framework of the Tech Olympiads Hub, with the support of TBC. The team is mentored by Professor Giorgi Mandaria, Bakar Gamezardashvili, and Tarash Dolaberidze.

The International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) is one of the five international academic Olympiads designated as a national priority by Georgia’s Ministry of Education, Science and Youth. Georgia has participated in the competition since 1996. The country’s national team is selected through the results of the National Olympiad in Informatics and additional qualifying rounds. The selection, training, and participation of Georgia’s teams in international academic Olympiads are supported by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia and administered by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia.

Strengthening education and fostering a thriving technology ecosystem are among TBC’s strategic priorities. By supporting initiatives such as the Tech Olympiads Hub, TBC continues to create opportunities for young people to develop advanced digital skills, enhance their practical expertise, and prepare for success on the international stage.
