Parents of children suffering from Duchenne muscular dystrophy are holding a meeting with the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Shio III.
The meeting is taking place at the Patriarchate of Georgia.
Parent Tamar Gogaladze said four parents are participating in the meeting, which she said was scheduled unexpectedly.
“It is still difficult to predict the outcome, but we think it will go in favor of the children. We do not have time. We want to believe that the Patriarch will make a decision for the benefit of our children and that we will leave this meeting happy,” Gogaladze said.
The parents say they hope the meeting will contribute to efforts aimed at securing funding for medication for children diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
