Georgian Railway is set to spend GEL 220,391 on organizing and live-streaming an event dedicated to presenting its strategic development plans, as stated by procurement documents.
The company has opted for simplified procurement and selected several service providers for the event. These include HD Events for event organization, Paragraph Tbilisi City for catering services and GDS TV for live broadcasting.
The presentation is linked to what Georgian Railway describes as a ‘historic renewal’ phase. Planned upgrades include the acquisition of new locomotives, passenger trains and wagons, as well as the rehabilitation of infrastructure and buildings along the Borjomi–Bakuriani Railway.
The company stated that the event is intended to present its modernization plans to government representatives, high-ranking officials, and other stakeholders. Officials argue that the initiative will help raise awareness of the railway’s role in the country’s transport system and contribute to shaping a positive public perception.
Georgian Railway also noted that such extensive modernization efforts have not been undertaken in recent decades. The event is scheduled to take place no later than May 10, 2026, with timing finalized following coordination with participating parties.
