AP: Iran receives 15-point ceasefire proposal from the US

Iran has received a 15-point ceasefire proposal from the United States, Associated Press reported, citing two Pakistani officials who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Sources say the proposal includes provisions such as sanctions relief, civilian nuclear cooperation, the suspension of Iran’s nuclear program, monitoring by the International Atomic Energy Agency, limitations on missile capabilities, and regulations concerning maritime transit through the Strait of Hormuz.

For context, US President Donald Trump stated that negotiations between Washington and Tehran are ongoing, led by Vice President J. D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The Iranian side, however, has not confirmed that talks are underway.

Meanwhile, Reuters previously reported, citing an informed source, that Washington had developed and sent Tehran a 15-point plan aimed at ending the conflict.

The reported proposal reflects ongoing diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions, although significant gaps between the positions of the two sides remain.
