Empowering Cybersecurity Talent in Georgia: TBC and the British Embassy Join Forces

TBC, in partnership with the British Embassy in Georgia, has launched a series of impactful cybersecurity education programs aimed at raising awareness of information security and equipping participants with essential professional skills.

With the support of the British Embassy, TBC IT Academy implemented two key projects under the Women in Cyber (WIC) initiative:

  • TBCxWIC – Cybersecurity & SOC Fundamentals: This project focused on creating new career opportunities for women aspiring to enter the field of cybersecurity. Conducted in an intensive bootcamp format at the TBC IT Academy, the program provided 15 participants with both theoretical foundations and hands-on experience, delivered by leading industry experts.
  • TBCxWIC – Advanced Cybersecurity: Designed for practicing information security specialists, this advanced program deepened participants’ expertise and prepared them for active involvement in daily operations within cybersecurity teams. A total of 24 professionals successfully completed the training.

In addition to these initiatives, TBCxWIC also launched an internship program, through which several graduates have already begun internships at TBC and other leading financial institutions.

“For the past five years, TBC IT Academy has been actively contributing to digital security education in Georgia, raising awareness and strengthening the country’s tech ecosystem. Our collaboration with the British Embassy is particularly significant, as these joint initiatives provide valuable educational and professional development opportunities in cybersecurity—especially for women entering this vital field,” said Tata Anjaparidze, Lead at TBC IT Academy.

Nicole: A Homegrown Success in Children’s Fashion with TBC Business by Its Side

“Nicole” is a Georgian brand specializing in children’s clothing and footwear, developed with the support of TBC Business.

Launched in 2017, the brand was born from the vision of Nika Nikoleishvili and his family. What started as a small operation with just two tailors has since grown into a thriving company employing 45 people.

“We started on a very small scale with only two tailors. Today, our team has grown to 45. From the very beginning, even with limited resources, we had a clear mission — to create clothing and footwear with distinctive designs that would stand out from imported products on the Georgian market. We aim to consistently maintain this individuality and high quality,” says Nika Nikoleishvili, founder of Nicole.

The brand’s development followed a steady and strategic path. First came the establishment of a production facility equipped with modern technologies. This was followed by the launch of online sales, and just five months later, the opening of Nicole’s first physical store. Today, the brand operates five locations — four in Tbilisi and one in Batumi.

“TBC has been a loyal supporter of Nicole from day one. The bank stood by us even during tough times, like the Covid-19 pandemic. That period forced all of us to adapt to a new reality, which was challenging. But with TBC’s support, we didn’t just survive — we grew,” says Nikoleishvili.

In recent years, Nicole has turned its focus to exports. The ambition is to expand beyond Georgia’s borders. As part of this vision, the brand regularly participates in international exhibitions to showcase its collections and connect with new markets.

Here’s the edited and polished version of your text with a strong focus on grammar, style, and clarity. I’ve also suggested a new, relevant title at the top that better reflects the emphasis on TBC Capital’s role and the topic discussed:

TBC Capital Analyzes Global Tariff Impact at Joint Event with AmCham

TBC Capital, in partnership with the American Chamber of Commerce in Georgia, hosted its traditional macroeconomic and sectoral outlook event, presenting key insights to AmCham members. This year’s meeting centered on one of the most pressing global economic challenges: the impact of U.S. tariff policy on international markets and Georgia’s economy.

The event, titled “The World and Georgia: Current Trends,” brought together representatives from AmCham member companies, international financial institutions, and various diplomatic missions.

TBC Capital’s Director and Head of Research presented forecasts on how U.S. tariff measures could influence both global and domestic markets. They also delivered a comprehensive overview of Georgia’s macroeconomic landscape and sectoral developments. According to their analysis, U.S. tariffs could negatively affect global trade, which would have direct implications for Georgia—particularly in terms of exports, consumer prices, and the GEL exchange rate. Currently, the U.S. accounts for 12.2% of Georgia’s imports, 2.1% of exports, 7.4% of foreign investments, and 18.4% of remittances.

The discussion also covered key sectors such as real estate and tourism. TBC Capital reported a decrease in real estate sales in Tbilisi during the first quarter of 2025, though prices remained largely stable. Notably, between 2023 and 2024, construction permits were issued for 2.7 million m² of residential space in the capital, indicating a growing supply pipeline.

In the tourism sector, international arrivals reached 6.45 million in 2024—an increase of 4.6% compared to the previous year. Visitor numbers from China, India, and Kazakhstan continued to rise, supported by visa-free travel policies and the launch of direct flights.

Here’s your edited and polished version of the text, with improved grammar, style, and structure—tailored to highlight TBC Capital’s role while ensuring clarity and professionalism. I’ve also provided a relevant title.

Tegeta Holding and TBC Capital Successfully Complete €30 Million Multicurrency Bond Program

Tegeta Holding, with the support of TBC Capital, has successfully issued USD 10 million in two-year public bonds—the fourth and final tranche of its €30 million multicurrency bond program. The bonds are expected to be listed on the Georgian Stock Exchange.

Driven by strong investor demand, the interest rate was set at 8.0%, the lowest among Tegeta’s previous USD-denominated issuances. Investors will receive interest payments semiannually, with the principal amount due in April 2027.

This issuance marks the successful completion of the bond program, which was launched in April 2024. The program included four tranches in total—amounting to €10 million and USD 20 million collectively.

“We are pleased that Tegeta, with the support of TBC Capital, has issued securities totaling approximately GEL 310 million. This marks our ninth consecutive joint placement, successfully concluding a landmark multicurrency program. It serves as a significant precedent for the local capital market and reaffirms our role as a leading investment bank committed to helping businesses access and develop alternative financing solutions. Notably, in 2024 alone, TBC Capital facilitated securities issuances totaling over GEL 620 million across 16 transactions—representing 60% of the market, excluding IFI bonds,” said Otar Sharikadze, Director of TBC Capital.

“We are proud to have completed another successful bond program in partnership with TBC Capital. This transaction was particularly important for us, as we managed to improve the terms of our USD-denominated bonds and secure a lower interest rate of 8%, reflecting the growing confidence of investors in Tegeta. Moreover, the new issuance enhances the company’s liquidity and financial flexibility, enabling us to continue our strategic investments and manage capital effectively,” said Manana Khinashvili, Head of Investor Relations at Tegeta Holding.

Tegeta is the largest automotive company in the Caucasus and Central Asia, offering a comprehensive automotive ecosystem across light, heavy, construction, commercial, passenger, and industrial transport sectors. Founded in 1995, the company operates 28 service centers across Georgia and partners with approximately 300 global brands, including Porsche, Lamborghini, Bentley, Toyota, Mazda, Volvo, MAN, JCB, Bridgestone, Michelin, Pirelli, Shell, and Petronas.
