Zurabishvili: Presidential inauguration has no legal force; I remain the president

The presidential inauguration has no legal force, so I remain the president and will continue my work. This is what everyone needs to know. Details will be revealed on Sunday,” – said Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili in an interview with the British podcast Rest Is Politics.

When asked what she plans to do on Sunday, the day scheduled for Mikheil Kavelashvili’s inauguration, the president responded that further details will be announced on Sunday.

“I cannot answer this question now because the ruling party should only learn about Sunday’s plans on Sunday itself, not beforehand. The most important thing to know about Sunday is that the presidential elections, as well as the inauguration, have no legal force. Therefore, I remain the president and continue my work. This is what everyone needs to understand. Details will be disclosed on Sunday,” the President emphasized.
