Willy Sagnol: I’m very far from politics, who plays and who doesn’t, it’s completely my decision

Budu Zivzivadze is a part of the team – I am quite far from politics, who plays and who doesn’t, this is completely my decision, – said the head coach of the Georgian football team,Willy Sagnol, at the pre-match press conference.

He claimed that 6-7 months ago, many people insulted him when Giorgi Mikoutadze was put on the bench and Budu Zivzivadze played.

“You know that Zivzivadze is part of the team, he played a few minutes against Turkey. Nothing has been decided about tomorrow. You said it’s become too political. I’m pretty far away from politics because I want to make sound decisions based on football facts only. It’s funny, because I remember 6-7 months ago, many people insulted me when I put Mikautadze on the bench and played Budu. Now I get insulted every day by some idiots for no football reasons and I can’t take it. I’m a football coach and it’s clear to everyone, who plays and who doesn’t, it’s completely my decision. Sorry for such a tone, but I’ve been in a bad mood for a few days now,” says Willy Sagnol.

The coach of the national football team also talks about Otar Kiteishvili and says that he will be ready for the third match.

“Kiteishvili will be ready for the third match. We are here and we want more. It will be difficult to play against Portugal. We will do everything to get to the next stage! Before the third round, we have a chance to go to the next stage. We are worried and happy”, said Willy Sagnol.

For the last few games, Georgia’s Budu Zivzivadze was put on bench. Some people link it to his political views and his status posted in the social media, saying “No to to the Russian Law!”
