The U.S. Embassy has voiced concerns over the Georgian government risking its partnership with the U.S. It is agitated by Georgian Dream’s”claim that ISFED, an NGO based in Tbilisi, made some unlawful measures during the 2020 elections.
Concerning the claim, the U.S. Embassy highlighted ISFED’s early election results, illustrating GD’s victory. Despite subsequent data corrections showing the ruling party’s votes increased by 1.8%, the ultimate result endured.
The Embassy expressed confusion over the government’s perceived reckless behavior that threatens strong collaborative relations, emphasizing that the dispute was started over such a small percentage that did not even rule out the Georgian Dream’s victory.
