British Embassy in Tbilisi hosted the winners of the ‘Ambassador for a Day’ initiative, a program organized in connection with International Women’s Day to promote female leadership in diplomacy.
The selected participants, Elene Bakhutashvili, Ketevan Shughliashvili, Ketevan Tandashvili and Nini Gachechiladze, spent a full day at the embassy where they met Gareth Ward and took part in the daily activities of the diplomatic mission.
During the program, the participants gained first-hand insight into the embassy’s operations, including meetings with staff and representatives of other diplomatic missions. The initiative’s goal is to provide a practical understanding of diplomatic work and international relations. As part of the visit, the winners also toured the British Council where they were introduced to its educational and cultural programs.
The initiative is created to encourage young women to pursue leadership roles and careers in diplomacy and public service.
