The World Bank, in partnership with Tbilisi City Hall and Tbilisi Transport and Urban Development Agency, would like to invite the media representatives to the Tbilisi Bike Ride, which will start from Vake Park (entrance from Chavchavadze Avenue) on Wednesday, June 22 at 14:30 pm.

The Bike Ride aims to build awareness and experience the pros and cons of the existing cycling infrastructure in Tbilisi.

The bikeshare system is expected to contribute to reducing the dependence on automobiles and easing the congestion in the city. Most importantly, it will contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions that in the long term will improve the air quality whilst providing last mile connectivity to bus, minibus and metro services and encourage a modal shift from private vehicle use for short trips.

The representatives from the World Bank, Tbilisi City Hall, diplomatic corps, and the members of the cycling community will participate in the Tbilisi Bike Ride.
