The Tech Olympiad Hub, established through a partnership between TBC Bank and Business and Technology University, has announced the start of student registration for participation in the European Junior Olympiad in Informatics (EJOI). The initiative is designed to create new opportunities for emerging tech talent across Georgia.
The Hub brings together the country’s existing olympiad ecosystem into a unified platform aimed at identifying and supporting the next generation of technology leaders. Through this initiative, Georgian students gain access to international-level technology competitions, including EJOI 2026, which will take place from July 24 to 30 in Kaunas, Lithuania.
The competition is open to school students under the age of 16 from across Georgia. EJOI serves as an important first step for young participants to gain international experience, discover their potential early, and increase motivation through global exposure.
Registration for the national selection rounds is open until April 30. Following a two-stage selection process, a national team consisting of four main participants and two reserves will be formed to represent Georgia at EJOI in Lithuania.
Georgia joined EJOI in 2017, and since then, its national team has consistently delivered strong performances. The competition format includes two rounds, each featuring three algorithmic problems tailored to participants’ age and skill level.
“To achieve results in the Olympiad, you need to identify your weaknesses and work on improving them, learn the theory, and then translate that theory into practical code,” said Mate Rekhviashvili, a 2025 team member and silver and bronze medalist.
Experience gained at EJOI often becomes a stepping stone toward greater achievements, including participation in the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) and the first steps in a professional technology career.
TBC continues to support young people through its free educational initiatives, including TBC Tech School, Campus, IT Academy, the Tech Olympiad Hub, and AI student clubs. These programs equip students with the knowledge to build their first digital projects, discover their strengths, and begin shaping their own path in the technology sector.
