The rector of Georgia’s Shota Rustaveli State University of Theater and Film has decided against revoking students’ status, it confirmed in an official university statement.
“Considering the statements from students, teachers, and staff, and prioritizing the university’s best interests, the rector has chosen not to impose the most severe disciplinary measure—termination of status,” the university announced on its official Facebook page.
This follows recent student protests. On March 9, demonstrators reported being asked to leave the university building, and the next day, several students announced their own decision to terminate their status.
