Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced at a municipal government meeting that rehabilitation works are in progress on Andria Tsiklauri Street in Tbilisi’s Nadzaladevi district, as part of ongoing efforts to upgrade urban infrastructure in the capital.
The project, located near the so-called ‘Triangle Garden’ area, begins with the installation of a drainage system covering approximately 4,000 square meters. City officials say this phase is critical to addressing long-standing water management issues before proceeding with full road rehabilitation.
Once drainage works are completed, the street will undergo comprehensive upgrades, including the installation of new road infrastructure and a two-layer asphalt surface. Additional improvements will include curbs and the overall arrangement of surrounding areas.
Tbilisi City Hall stated that the street has not seen large-scale rehabilitation since the 1950s, leaving it in significantly deteriorated condition. Officials say the project will fully renew the roadway and improve conditions for both residents and drivers.
