The Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Nikoloz Samkharadze, and members of the same Committee met with the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament (AFET), David McAllister, and members of the committee to discuss the current developments in the region.
The participants discussed Russia’s ongoing aggression in Ukraine, their predictions for how the war there may play out, and any potential dangers it might present to Georgia and the rest of the Black Sea region.
“The meeting’s focus was entirely on current regional affairs and Georgia’s function as a peace broker in the South Caucasus. We also talked about how the war in Ukraine may develop and what threats it might present to Georgia and the wider Black Sea region. The guests were interested in issues including Georgia’s position in the region, its foreign policy, and how the European Union may assist the country in carrying out its foreign policy,” Samkharadze stated after the meeting.
The meeting was attended by the First Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, Giorgi Khelashvili, Deputy Chairman, David Zilpimiani, and a member of the Committee, Ramaz Nikolaishvili.
