A 26-member delegation from the Georgian State Academic Ensemble of Folk Song and Dance ‘Rustavi’ will accompany the Georgian Dream government to Shanghai in November to take part in the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE).
The documentation released by the State Procurement Agency states that the total cost of the visit amounts to 197,296 GEL. The participation, organized through a simplified procurement procedure by Enterprise Georgia, covers transportation, accommodation and performance-related expenses. Of the total sum, 110,359 GEL is allocated for travel, including round-trip airfare, internal transfers and hotel stays.
The invitation for Georgia’s participation was extended by the Chinese Ambassador to Georgia, while the Expo itself is scheduled for November 5–10, with the ensemble’s performances taking place between November 10 and 15.
During the exhibition, Rustavi Ensemble will perform traditional Georgian folk songs and dances, representing the country’s rich cultural heritage on an international stage. Enterprise Georgia emphasized that the performance will play a main role in promoting Georgia’s culture, exports, and investment potential.
The agency also noted that due to strict timelines and procedural delays, a standard electronic tender process was not feasible. As a result, a simplified procurement was carried out to avoid logistical complications and cost escalations.
