Ruling Party Response to Recognize European Perspective of Georgia

The ruling party of Georgia responded to the European Council’s decision to recognize the European perspective of Georgia.

“Grateful to all EUCO leaders who made it a reality. A historic moment indeed – this decision opens a new far-reaching chapter in the EU-Georgia ties. Georgia is coming back to where it has always belonged – EU,” Tweeted Shalva Papuashvili, the Speaker of Parliament.

“Many thanks to EUCO for this historic decision! While there is more work to do, 🇬🇪 is now closer than ever to returning to its European family. Congratulations to every citizen of 🇬🇪 on this landmark occasion!” Tweeted Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of the city.

The president of Georgia, Salime Zurabishvili also responded to the event noting Georgia is ready to work months to reach the candidate status.

“A historic day. Georgia’s European perspective is recognized. Now, we’re ready to work with determination over the next months to reach the candidate status,” Tweeted Zurabishvili.
