A large protest march titled “Until the End, Until Victory!” took place on Sunday in Tbilisi, as demonstrators moved from Republic Square toward Rustaveli Avenue to join ongoing rallies near the Parliament of Georgia. The protest movement has now reached its 333rd consecutive day, with participants continuing to demand political change.
Protesters carried a banner bearing the march’s slogan and voiced strong opposition to the policies of the ruling Georgian Dream party. Demonstrators reiterated their core demands: the holding of new parliamentary elections and the release of individuals detained during earlier rallies. Leaders and members of various political parties joined the event, along with Georgia’s fifth President, Salome Zurabishvili.
Giga Bokeria, leader of the Federalists party, told InterpressNews that public pressure must continue to intensify until the current government accepts defeat. He claimed that the existing political leadership endangers the country’s independence and future, placing personal wealth and power above Georgia’s national interests.
“The citizens of Georgia have one message: the protest will continue until the Ivanishvili regime, which betrays our national interests for its own money and power, does not accept that it must give up authority and submit to society,” Bokeria stated. He added that broadening the protest movement is essential, calling for active citizens to persuade wider segments of the population to join the cause.
“These types of regimes accept failure only when they see no other path. That is why the expansion of the protests is necessary,” he said, emphasizing that civil activism must persist through every legitimate means available in a democratic society.
Addressing supporters near the Parliament, former President Salome Zurabishvili declared that the ruling authorities have already lost legitimacy. As she noted, “After one year, everything has been laid bare. Society is paying fines, filling the budget, and the regime and its last representatives are steeped in total corruption — corruption on a scale I have never heard of anywhere else.” Zurabishvili accused the government of alienating state lands and prioritizing private financial interests over the country’s strategic and cultural integrity.
She argued that the current leadership’s “days are numbered,” urging protesters to remain steadfast until real change is achieved. Zurabishvili addressed the families of political detainees and frontline activists, acknowledging the sacrifices they continue to make: “Here, we already have our victory — your victory. Let our hearts hold on a bit longer, and soon there will be a true, complete victory, new elections, a new society, and a new political space that we need.”
As the march concluded on Rustaveli Avenue, organizers affirmed that demonstrations will persist and expand in scale until their demands — including new elections and the release of detained protesters — are met. The movement vows to continue “until the end, until victory,” keeping pressure on the government as the political crisis deepens.
