Protest continues on Melikishvili Street

Protesters on Melikishvili Street, December1, 2024

Students, lecturers and numerous civilians of all ages have chosen not to go home following a third night of violence from Georgian Dream’s riot police. Others have rested and rejoined the rally.

Gathered on Melikishvili Street in Tbilisi around fires, sharing food, tea and coffee, they prepare for another day and night fighting for their right to demand that Georgia’s European direction continue, that the police brutality cease, and for Georgian Dream to accept that the October 26th elections were “illegitimate.”
