PMC data indicates an expected continuation of the increasing trend of visits from China to Georgia.
As outlined in the monthly tourism overview crafted by the research center, the driving force behind this trend is the implementation of the visa-free regime with China.
“In Q3 2023, visits from Iran, Israel, and Saudi Arabia mirrored pre-pandemic figures. However, given the current geopolitical events in Israel and flight restrictions, it is expected that the number of visits from Israel will decrease significantly.
On the other hand, due to the introduction of the visa-free regime, it is expected that the increasing trend of visits from China will continue (in Q3 2023, the number of visits from China was 19% higher compared to Q3 2019),” notes the monthly review of tourism.
The PMC research center reports that visits from India witnessed a 46% year-on-year growth in Q3 2023, surpassing pre-pandemic levels by 84%. According to their own assessment, despite the challenges of border crossing for visitors, there is a prospect of increasing visits from India.
