“We are gearing towards a truly significant event – European Championship in Football under 21. Georgia will be playing against Portugal on June 21 and our country stands ready to hold the championship with dignity at the highest level. Of course, it was a big challenge and a great honor for us to host this most significant event. In a mere 1 year or less than that, we rehabilitated 10 facilities,” states Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia at the rehabilitated football stadium named after Revaz Shengelia in Kutaisi.
He noted, 115 mln GEL was spent in total for the rehabilitation of 10 facilities.
“We spent 115 mln GEL on the implementation of these projects. I visited a football stadium named after Mikheil Meskhi in Tbilisi this morning. It has been fully rehabilitated in the same manner. Here you see a field of modern standards. We spent 35 MLN GEL on all these. We spent 32 MLN GEL in Tbilisi, if I am not mistaken, on the rehabilitation of a football stadium named after Mikheil Meskhi. It is important to note that these assets will remain in the property of our country and future generations. They now need to be maintained and developed further. It is very important that our future generations, our youth use these assets,” stated Garibashvili.
