The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, congratulated the population on the national holiday Svetitskhovloba from Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and stated today the country needs more unity, more love, more peace.
“It is an absolute truth that the Georgian nation was saved by the faith and the mother church, that is why the Georgian people are distinguished by a unique devotion to God, to our faith, to the Church. Naturally, we, our people went through a lot of trials. We are still going through a lot of difficulties today, but with the faith and help of the Lord, we will overcome all the difficulties and the country will find peace. Our dear society, today the country needs more unity, more love, more peace. Thank God, everything has gone well lately and we believe we have a deep faith and hope for the future. Hope that Georgia will unite, our nation will unite and our country will win. God bless our country,” Garibashvili said.
On October 14, Georgia celebrates Svetitskhovloba, a national holiday dedicated to the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (“the Living Pillar Cathedral”) located in Georgia’s historical town of Mtskheta. The festival is also referred to as Mtskhetoba (celebrating the day of Mtskheta).
