Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze criticized the recent statement by 51 members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), calling it “utter absurdity.”
He stressed that Georgia had already suspended its participation in PACE on its own initiative, making the demand to suspend its status meaningless. Kobakhidze said European politicians involved were “completely detached from reality.”
The PACE declaration, titled “Authoritarian backsliding in Georgia,” warned that Georgia risks losing its delegation credentials if it fails to reverse its authoritarian course.
