PM: Occupation Regime Will be Held Responsible for all Incidents, Illegal Restrictions & Detentions

The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, today, November 8, congratulated the Georgian people on the birthday of Ilia Chavchavadze, a public figure.

“Today we celebrate the birthday of the greatest writer and public figure, one of the main creators of modern Georgia, Ilia Chavchavadze. Ilia’s whole life, his every step and initiative was aimed at strengthening Georgia, developing his society.

It is a rare case in history when one person was able to determine the future of the country with personal efforts of incredible scale. Ilia’s work awakened the dormant national self-consciousness and state thinking in the Georgian people. His multifaceted public work has paved the way for the development we are pursuing today, and which will continue to be our main focus for a long time to come.

I cordially congratulate you on this wonderful day and wish you all the path of service to the homeland and the truth through St. Ilia the Righteous,” the statement reads.
