PM attends opening ceremony of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze is taking part in the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) Summit, one of the world’s leading international platforms dedicated to sustainable development, climate action, and the transition to clean energy.

As part of the Georgian delegation’s visit, the Prime Minister attended the official opening ceremony of the summit and the Zayed Sustainability Prize Award Ceremony, held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center.

The summit was formally opened by Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, who underlined the importance of global cooperation in addressing climate change, accelerating the energy transition, and promoting innovative, technology-driven solutions for sustainable growth.

The opening event was also attended by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, who presented awards to this year’s winners of the Zayed Sustainability Prize across multiple categories, including health, food, energy, water, climate action, and global high schools.

Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week brings together heads of state and government, ministers, business leaders, international organizations, and sustainability experts from around the world. The forum serves as a key venue for discussing global climate challenges, renewable energy development, green financing, and pathways toward inclusive and resilient economic growth.

Georgia’s participation in ADSW reflects the country’s interest in strengthening international partnerships in the fields of sustainable energy, environmental protection, and innovation, as well as aligning national development priorities with global climate and sustainability goals.
