The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development announced on Monday that Georgia’s airports experienced record-breaking traffic in the first six months of 2025, with over 3.6 million passengers, a 14% increase compared to the same period last year.
Tbilisi International Airport led the trend, serving 2.36 million passengers, up 11% year-on-year. Kutaisi International Airport followed with 833,512 travelers, a 12% rise. Batumi International Airport recorded the highest growth rate, with a 35% jump to 450,330 passengers.
In total, nearly 17,000 flights were operated across Georgia’s three major airports between January and June 2025. These included 12,857 scheduled flights and 3,874 charter operations.
Air cargo traffic also increased, with cargo volumes growing 50% to reach 16,551 tons. Meanwhile, Georgian airspace recorded 139,945 overflights, 7% more than the same period in 2024.
Wizz Air remained Georgia’s leading airline, making up 18% of the market with 642,956 passengers. Other top carriers included Pegasus (8%, 284,984 passengers), Georgian Airways (8%, 272,568), Turkish Airlines (7%, 268,959) and Azerbaijan Airlines (6%, 222,237).
