The Defense and Security Committee Delegation, serving the working visit to Lithuania attended the Discussion “Georgia’s European Way” organized by the Embassy on the occasion of the Independence Day of Georgia.
The Discussion was partnered by the European Commission and the Easter European Studies Center of Lithuania. The key objective of the Discussion envisaged the introduction of the position of Georgia and the progress achieved in the relations with the EU, as well as the ways for further enhancement of the relations.
The attendees discussed the EU membership application submitted by Georgia and the importance of the positive decision. The Chair of the Defense and Security Committee, Irakli Beraia; Deputy Foreign Minister of Lithuania, Mantas ADOMĖNAS, and the Director for the Policy and Analysis of the European Commission Office, Laimute PILUKAITĖ addressed the attendees.
The final speech was delivered by the Ambassador of Georgia to Lithuania, Salome Sapakidze.
The event was as well attended by the representatives of the state authorities and political circles of Lithuania, the Lithuanian Parliament, diplomatic corps, and civil society.
