The representatives of the Permanent Gender Equality Council, Ministry of Health, Rule of Law Program, Labor Inspection Service, International Labor Organization, UN Women, and the UNDP convened a joint session to address the issues related to the needs of women employed in the informal sector.
As Khatia Tsilosani, a member of the Gender Equality Council noted the discussion at the meeting was about promoting the use of social packages for those employed in households.
“Additionally discussed were the social advantages and incentives provided by Georgian law, the degree to which those working in the informal sector should transition into the formal economy, and potential motivators for family workers to make use of the pension accumulation system,” Tsilosani noted.
