The latest Employment Tracker by PMCG shows that the number of salaried employees in Georgia surpassed 1,000,000 in February 2026, reflecting a 4% year-on-year increase.
The data shows that the majority of employees fall into mid- and high-income brackets. Around 35% earned between GEL 1,200–2,399, while another 35% earned GEL 2,400 or more. Both categories saw a 4% increase compared to February 2025.
Lower-income earners, those receiving GEL 600 or less, accounted for 11.6% of employees, or 116,105 people, marking a 1.5% increase from the same period last year.
The Georgian job portal jobs.ge reported 6,382 new vacancies in February 2026. While this represents a slight 0.5% decrease compared to January, the total number of job postings rose by 14% year-on-year.
The IT & programming sector experienced the fastest growth in vacancies, up 21% year-on-year, followed by administration and management roles, which increased by 19%. Between December 2025 and February 2026, sales and procurement positions accounted for the largest share of new job postings.
