NDI: 64% of respondents believe there’s not even one party in Georgia that represents their interests

According to March 2023 public opinion polls of the National Democratic Institute (NDI), 64% of the surveyed population believe that there is not even one party in Georgia that represents their interests.

When asked whether “there is at least one party in Georgia that more or less expresses your interests.” a record low number of respondents, 24%, answered that there is one such party.

According to NDI research, 14% of Georgian Dream supporters and 36% of opposition supporters say that no party represents their interests. The research showed that compared to last year, among the supporters of Georgian Dream, the share of people who think that there is at least one political party that represents their interests has increased. According to the National Democratic Institute, young people, that is, the population aged 18-34, are characterized by the highest skepticism.

In addition, support of Georgian Dream among the young age group is relatively low.

The survey was conducted between March 17-23, through telephone interviews with a nationwide representative sample of Georgia’s adult population, excluding occupied territories. The March poll included 1032 completed interviews. The average margin of error is +/- 2 percent.
